Has anybody noticed a difference in how fast pages are loading? I'm also testing new mailer software. Some users have reported receiving duplicate emails. It would be great to hear if anybody else is noticing that. I'm also planning to move the picture flashcards to a system where you can control the order of the flashcards, rather than having them appear randomly. I appreciate ideas on what system to use. | Site Update: Dark Mode, new Fluency Setting by oliver 8. Apr 2024 Chinese Hello everyone! You can now switch to dark mode in the settings. The link for this can be found in the Menu or the Main settings. It is still in beta, so if you encounter any issues with the dark mode, please let me know. Implementing this was quite a bit of work, I hope you enjoy it! We have introduced a new 5-minute option in the Fluency setting (accessible by clicking on the percentage at the top). This is perfect for those who only have 5 minutes to practice every day. Due to the popularity of the reward links, we have decided to continue offering them and will not phase them out as previously planned. | Site Update: 25 new languages for Picture Flashcards by oliver 24. Feb 2024 Chinese Hello, we've added almost 25 more languages to the Picture Flashcards. New languages include Sorbian, Bodo, Faroese, Maya, Setswana, Chhattisgarhi, Portuguese of Portugal, Fijian, Rundi, Cantonese, and more. Check them out under "Menu > Picture Flashcards", then "Customise Exercise" at the bottom. As always I hope my users can help record them. | Site Update: Picture of the Day, Server Move by oliver 23. Feb 2024 Chinese Hello everyone, We have a new feature on the "Session Completed" page. This page is shown when you finish a session. If you scroll down a little you will see a "Picture of the Day" which you can rate. The best rated pictures will be turned into a Picture Flashcard, so please vote each time you complete a session. We will also be moving to a new server in the next few days if there are no problems. So there might be a short interruption for the newsletter and the website. Oliver |

You can do this at "Menu > Show all links > Other Links > Voice Donation". As for the Collectible cards, we have now changed them a bit, so that newer sets are shown more often. I am currently testing a new way of communicating with our members, where I post new things on our forum and announce those posts in the newsletter. We are currently working on a new feature called Picture Flashcards, where you can learn with pictures that combine almost any language you have heard of. You can even show multiple languages at once by clicking the customise link. The picture flashcards don't have sound at the moment and are translated by AI. We will gradually add grammar notes for the flashcards below the images. You can also contribute these by submitting them. You can access these flashcards via "Menu > Show All Links > Text Section > Picture Flashcards". What topics are you interested in? | User Poll: Reorganising Collectible Cards Distribution? by oliver 5. Feb 2024 Chinese Hi everyone, I'm thinking of changing the way the collectible cards are organised. At the moment I add new sets every now and then, and then they are evenly distributed across all the sets. In this new way, each set of collectible cards will have a limited time, say 3 months, where you can collect that set, and then it will move on to a new set to keep things fresh. The disadvantage is that you might never finish the set in those 3 months. Another way would be to make older sets rarer, while new sets are distributed more often. Anyway, let me know what you think! Vote below which way you'd prefer. 1. Keep it as it is (old and new sets equally distributed) 2. Stop distributing old sets altogether 3. | Site Update: Android Phone display improved by oliver 3. Feb 2024 Chinese Hi all, I tested our website on Android and realized that the display on it wasn't very good. The font size was inconsistent, so they have now been normalized via CSS. If you use Android, please let me know if it looks better now, and inform me if there are any further problems. As the detail says: 独子 is “only son", which is correct, but he can have sisters.
