Jack: Hi Melanie und Hugh! Zurück aus Thailand?
Jack: Hi Melanie and Hugh! Back from Thailand?
Melanie: Thailand? Oh, nein wir waren dieses Mal in Taiwan.
Melanie: Thailand? Oh no, we've been to Taiwan this time.
Jack: Verstehe. Wie war es?
Jack: I see. How was it?
Hugh: Es war schön. Wir waren in ein paar Tempeln und bei Nachtmärkten.
Hugh: It was nice. We went to a couple of temples and night markets.
Jack: Hört sich gut an.
Jack: Sounds nice.
Melanie: Ja, aber was ich an Taiwan nicht mochte war der verrückte Verkehr und die streunenden Hunde auf der Strasse.
Melanie: Yes, but what I didn't like about Taiwan was the insane traffic and the stray dogs on the street.
Jack: Wirklich? Ich habe in Spanien einmal einen streunenden Hund gesehen. Er ist mir eine Weile gefolgt.
Jack: Really? I saw a stray dog in Spain once. He was following me around for a while.
Melanie: Sie scheinen ein echtes Problem in einigen Ländern zu sein!
Melanie: They seem to be a real problem in some countries!
Hugh: Ich habe einmal gelesen, dass ein Bürgermeister in einer osteuropäischen Stadt die streunenden Hunde an die Löwen im Zoo verfüttert hat!
Hugh: I've read once that a mayor of some Eastern European town fed the stray dogs to the lions in the zoo!
Jack: Oh mein Gott! Das ist echt brutal!
Jack: Oh my god! That's really brutal!
